LA ROCCAIA

Tuscan wine, a family passion!

For us to fully understand the value of the Ricci family and their property, we must take a step back in time until the 1950s, when Franco’s grandfather, Nazareno Ricci and after him his father Antonio, decided to start a business that would keep them close to the territory and nature. In the following years, this effort led to the expansion of their endeavour and experience with the production of Chianti Colli Senesi and Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine, both poised to become recognised brands all over the world.

Today, Franco Ricci, nephew of Nazareno, aware of the value, of the word “Chianti” – which conveys both the history of the “product” and that of the “territory” – decides to offer consumers the opportunity to know his own business by purchasing his own wine.

La Roccaia Farm

Initially, the company consisted of the main building and about 5 hectares devoted to vineyards and other crops.
In the following years, the surface gradually expanded to reach the current 18 hectares of specialised vineyards in ChiantiVernaccia di San Gimignano and IGT wines with White and Red Berry.

The company’s evolution and expansion can be easily understood from the variety of products offered by La Roccaia farm.
Further to the Chianti and Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the company endeavours to offer other products such as the Vinsanto del Chianti, the Sparkling wine obtained with the Champenoise method, as well as Rosé wine.
Besides vineyards, the company avails of a specialised olive grove for the production of extra virgin olive oil.
